Antequera was founded by President and Chief Executive Officer, Fernando Lopez, in 1998. Our founder had the vision to capture the niche market of his home state Oaxaca, Mexico. During the following years Antequera rapidly expanded its paying network to include all of Mexico. Shortly thereafter Antequera acquired its own money transmitter’s license through the department of financial institutions of California allowing it to expand through independent agents.

With its own license in place, Antequera invested in state of the art technology to ensure the accuracy of its transactions.

Today:

Antequera is headquartered near downtown Los Angeles and continues to expand. Presently we operate in Mexico, Central America, and South America. Plans have already been developed to expand to the growing markets of Asia and Europe.
